A Carol Singin’ Christmas Pud In Black & White!
This site brings you lots of cool Christmas card ideas. This
design is one of my favorite Christmas card designs!
The red and green of the skeleton leaves and the beaded
holly really sets off the gorgeous, black and white, handwritten, Christmas
carol lyrics in the background.
The seed beads and skeleton leaves give the card some
texture. And the pudding shape is raised to make it really stand out.
Very stylish – yet lots of fun to make….
Difficulty Level: An intermediate Christmas card making idea

How To Make This Card Design …
Print it out!
Open up the Printable Christmas Card Making Kit [the what?] and print out the
black and white ‘Jingle Bells’ lyrics backing paper, and the Christmas pudding
outline.
Cool Christmas
Card IdeasSpray glue it! Spray glue the front of your card. I used 3M’s Spray
Mountglue.
Cut it out!
From the
black and white ‘Jingle Bells’ lyrics backing paper, cut out a rectangle that’s
slightly larger than the front of your card. Stick it to the front and then
flip your card over and trim away the excess backing paper with a craft knife.
Cut out
the Christmas pudding, leaving a wide margin around it. Spray glue a piece of
spare card and stick the Christmas pudding to it. Then carefully cut out the
card-backed Christmas pudding outline.
Tip: If you print
directly onto thin card instead of paper, just cut out the pudding outline
straight away.
Stick on the
leaves! Spray glue the back of the green, silver and red skeleton leaves and
arrange them on the left hand side of your card, near the bottom.
Emboss it! Draw
over the Christmas pudding outline with your clear embossing pen. Do this in
stages, so that you can sprinkle on the black embossing powder before the ink
dries. Use the black embossing powder and your heat tool to emboss the design
onto the paper as you go along. Mind your fingers now!
Tip: Usually you
don’t want those pesky flecks of excess embossing powder lurking in places
where they shouldn’t, but this time (after shaking off the bulk of the excess
powder), leave the odd few, stray specks of embossing powder (don’t brush them
away). This adds ‘a little something’ to the overall design.
Add glue! Once the
embossed image has cooled down, fill in the holly leaves and berries with PVC
glue.
Add beads!
Carefully stick the green seed beads onto the holly leaves and the red seed
beads onto the berries of the embossed Christmas pudding. Leave to dry.
Foam squares! Fix
a couple of foam squares to the back of your Christmas pudding and stick it to
your card, over the base of the skeleton leaf arrangement.
